Just look at two bound samples from the competing systems and you will see the difference.
Punch and bind systems will always show the holes and the comb on the copy. Bindomatic uses only 1 % to bind on and does not leave marks. Most copiers can remove the 1 mm shadow that could occur.
All systems can handle down to one page but would look silly with a large binding gadget to hold it. Bindomatic can do it as the binding will be just as thin, and not distract from the look.
Bindomatic can bind up to 540 sheets in one document. That is a full ream of paper bound in less than 2 minutes. Punch systems can sometimes go as high but the pages will start to break between the holes very quickly. It will also take a long time as you can only punch 10-15 pages at a time. So imagine doing that for 540 sheets and for several documents.
With thermal binding machines, put your sheets in the cover, insert cover into the binding machine and wait for one minute. Done. Punch and bind has to be careful that pages are straight for the holes, If not careful, pages are destroyed. Takes a while to handle.
Bindomatic documents can be edited, page by page, in less than a minute. The page will come out without any marks or damage. Punch and bind systems are cumbersome and the page still have holes afterwards.
Comb binding and similar can open 100% flat as the pages does not sit together as such. The drawback is if you want it to open flat for copying, then you will see all holes on the copy. Bindomatic opens 99% but with no copying marks, you can turn the document back to back without breaking.
The holes punched in some systems take away a large part of the paper which means that it will rip in between the holes. Not pretty. Bindomatic binds the paper on 3 sides without damaging it. As the glue is extremely flexible, it can bend over and over without breaking, even after 10 years.
When you hand over your document, it is your image that should be portrayed, not the binding system. Bindomatic is binding that doesn’t show, the document is itself. Other systems have rings, combs and wires that take away the presentation. With Bindomatic. you can also get your own printed cover to your design.
Thermal binding machines use a one piece wrap around cover, like a magazine. The other systems are made up of for example, back board, front pvc, and the binding gadget making it look like a you have just gathered some pages instead of like a book like document.
With punch and bind systems you normally can only punch 10 pages per punch so for a 60 page document, it will take time. Bindomatic is a lot quicker as you can bind 9 of the same document thickness in just 1 minute.
Most older systems rely on punching holes in the paper but only a few sheets at a time, Then manualy fit them on to the comb/wire or similar after it has been mounted on the machine that close the loops. Bindomatic you enter the pages into the cover, then into the machine which will beep when ready, cant be easier..
