Helpful Hints to a good looking and strong binding
1. Select the correct size cover. Bindomatic covers are available in 15 spine sizes. Each spine size is designed for a specific document thickness. Overstuffing covers will cause the binding to fail. Please use the size selector on your machine to ensure a successful bind.

Measure document
2. Place your sheets in the cover and line them up together reasonably well in the machine. (Not critical) When the machine indicates "Ready" do 2 light taps on the side and 2 at the top of cover to make sure the pages are lined up inside cover. (Sometimes the sheets from a copier / printer are static and stick together) It will also ensure that the pages are secure in the melted glue. As long as no sheet is sticking up above cover edge, you can be sure of a good and strong result. Pages into cover
3. Use the Cover Support Mechanism properly. The cover support mechanism is designed to gently hold the document upright. If the support is pressed too tightly against the document, the binding will fail because the papers will not be able to sink down into the adhesive. Please position the support mechanism so that it holds the document but does not squeeze it. Bind document
4. Remove documents at the conclusion of the first binding cycle. The adhesive in Bindomatic covers is designed to reach the correct viscosity in the binding cycle. Repeating the binding cycle can cause the binding to fail. Please remove the document at the conclusion of the binding cycle. Cool the binding
5. Allow the document(s) to cool When the document is removed from the binding machine, the softened adhesive takes approximately two minutes to harden. If the document is used before the adhesive has hardened, the binding can fail. Please allow your documents to cool and harden in the cooling stand before use. If you do a very thick book, allow it to stand a little longer. Ready to use
6. Remember that you can do several bindings within one binding cycle, for example you can easily fit in 10 covers at the same time on the Bindomatic 5000. Depending on machine and cover size used, you can bind as many as can fit in the machine at the same time.
A tip: Sheets printed can often be curled because of the heat in the printer / copier. When binding several documents at the same time. turn half of them around, belly to belly, so that they straigthen each other.

How to add, remove or replace pages in a bound document.

Editing

Editing Bindomatic documents is a very simple process.

This makes the process particularly well suited to reference books, where pages containing dated information need to be replaced.
